Version: 2026-10-05. Effective date: 5 October 2026.
1. Who operates Diff Stage
Diff Stage is operated by Kim Ward, a sole trader trading as Diff Stage, established in the United Kingdom. Our business address is 58 Upperfield Road, Maltby, Rotherham, S66 8BG, United Kingdom. Contact us at support@diffstage.com.
“We” means that operator. “You” means the person or organisation entering this agreement. If you use Diff Stage for an organisation, you must have authority to act for it. A consumer is an individual acting mainly outside their trade, business or profession. Consumer protections apply according to your actual circumstances, regardless of an account label.
2. The service and your account
Diff Stage hosts browser-test evidence, including recordings, posters, test metadata and diagnostic telemetry. It connects evidence to repositories and pull requests and supports reviewing recordings against approved baselines. Your plan and the functionality described when you subscribe form part of this agreement.
You need a supported browser and internet connection. Uploading evidence requires the supported Diff Stage recorder or API integration and the permissions needed for your repository and CI environment. We will disclose material technical requirements and limits before purchase. Diff Stage is not a backup service or a guarantee that your software works correctly.
Keep your account information accurate and credentials secure. Notify us promptly about suspected unauthorised access. Team owners manage membership, billing and integrations. Only a team owner can make commercial subscription changes; other roles have the access their team assigns. You must have legal capacity to enter this agreement.
3. Your evidence and permitted use
You keep ownership of your uploaded content. You give us permission to store, process, reproduce and display it only as needed to provide the service, follow your sharing instructions and fulfil our legal obligations. This is not a licence to use your recordings in advertising.
We treat your private evidence and other information reasonably understood to be confidential as confidential, including where it contains no personal data. We use it only to provide, support and secure the service, follow your instructions or meet legal duties. Access is limited to authorised people and suppliers who need it for those purposes and are bound by appropriate confidentiality obligations.
This protection does not restrict the publication you authorise. It excludes information we can demonstrate was already lawfully available to us without restriction, became public without our breach, was lawfully received from another source without a confidentiality duty, or was independently developed. If disclosure is required by law, we limit it to what is required and notify you where legally permitted. Confidentiality continues after the agreement ends while the information remains confidential.
You must have the rights and lawful authority to upload and share content, including any personal data it contains. Use synthetic test data where possible. Do not upload passwords, access tokens, payment-card details, unlawful material or sensitive personal data without first agreeing suitable arrangements with us. Recordings and diagnostic data are not automatically redacted.
Do not use Diff Stage to infringe others’ rights, distribute malware, gain unauthorised access, interfere with the service or evade usage limits. Report unlawful content or abuse to support@diffstage.com, identifying the evidence and explaining the concern.
4. Sharing and third-party integrations
Public project evidence can be viewed by people outside your team. Private project evidence requires the authorised access supported by the service. GitHub publication may place evidence links, descriptions and public previews into the repository’s review discussion. Check project privacy and repository access before uploading.
Changing privacy or deleting hosted evidence cannot recall copies already downloaded, copied into another service or cached by others. Previously issued temporary media links may remain usable until they expire.
GitHub and Stripe provide separate services under their own terms and privacy notices. We remain responsible for our obligations under this agreement, including where we use suppliers to deliver Diff Stage.
5. Plans, payment and limits
The monthly base prices are in US dollars:
| Plan | Monthly base price | Repository limit | Stored evidence allowance | Uploaded each UTC calendar month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | $9 | 1 | 5 GB | 5 GB |
| Pro | $29 | 5 | 25 GB | 25 GB |
| Scale | $79 | 20 | 100 GB | 100 GB |
These allowances are shared across the whole team, not multiplied by repository or member. One GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes. Stored and uploaded usage includes video, poster and diagnostic data counted by the service. Uploading replacements counts as new monthly upload usage. Deleting evidence releases stored usage but does not refund that month’s uploaded usage. Monthly upload allowances reset on the UTC calendar-month boundary, which may differ from your billing date.
The checkout will show the complete amount payable, applicable taxes, currency and recurring billing terms before you order. Your card provider may charge currency-conversion fees. We do not charge automatic overage fees. Reaching a limit can block new repositories or writes; retained evidence remains readable subject to its privacy settings and retention rules.
Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Stripe processes payment details. We do not receive your full card number. We provide an order confirmation you can keep, including the applicable terms and withdrawal information.
6. Changes, failed payments and cancellation
Plan changes you confirm take effect immediately. The payment portal shows the resulting charge or credit before confirmation. A lower plan’s limits apply immediately; evidence is not automatically erased because you downgrade, but new writes can be blocked while usage exceeds the lower limits. A failed upgrade payment does not grant the higher plan’s write allowance.
For an eligible failed renewal, a seven-day grace period runs from the renewal invoice’s creation. After that period, new writes may be blocked until payment is resolved. This grace period does not extend to unpaid upgrades.
You can cancel renewal through the billing portal. Ordinary cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; access continues for that period. Cancelling renewal is separate from exercising a consumer withdrawal right or requesting account deletion. Outside withdrawal rights, statutory remedies or another entitlement under these terms, unused time is not automatically refunded.
7. Consumer withdrawal and remedies
If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from your initial subscription within 14 days after the contract is concluded, without giving a reason. Where the law gives you a longer period or another withdrawal right, that right also applies. A request sent before the deadline is sufficient.
Use the “Cancel subscription” option on the billing page, email support@diffstage.com, or send a clear withdrawal statement to our business address. The form below is optional. The online function provides confirmation in a form you can retain.
Our refund policy: we provide a full refund of the initial subscription payment if you withdraw within this period, even if you have started using the service. We do not deduct a charge for that use. We refund using the original payment method, unless you agree otherwise, within 14 days of receiving the withdrawal notice, without a refund fee.
Your statutory rights when a digital service is not supplied or does not meet the contract are unaffected. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, these include bringing the service into conformity, a price reduction or ending the contract and receiving a refund. Contact support@diffstage.com to request a remedy. We do not require you to waive these rights by using Diff Stage.

8. Retention, deletion and ending the service
Ordinary runs become eligible for automatic deletion after 30 days from creation. Approved baseline evidence and baselines supporting comparisons with recent runs can be retained longer. Retention is not a guarantee that evidence will remain available for a minimum period. Keep a copy of evidence you need permanently.
Cancelling a subscription does not itself request deletion. Retained evidence remains subject to the normal retention rules. Authorised team administrators can remove runs using the available controls. Contact support@diffstage.com for account closure, a data return or a deletion request. The privacy notice and, where applicable, the data processing agreement describe handling of personal data, backups and legally required records.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address an actual security threat, unlawful activity, serious breach or non-payment. Where practical, we explain the reason and give a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. Urgent restrictions may take effect immediately. We use proportionate restrictions and preserve consumer remedies.
If we permanently discontinue the paid service for reasons unrelated to your breach, we give reasonable advance notice, a practical opportunity to retrieve evidence and a refund for the unused prepaid service period.
9. Service changes and responsibility
We take reasonable care in providing the service. We may make updates needed for security, legal compliance and maintenance. For material changes to pricing or these terms, we give at least 30 days’ advance notice, unless a shorter period is legally required or urgently needed for security. Price changes apply to a future renewal, not retrospectively.
Consumers retain applicable rights concerning changes to digital services. If a change adversely affects your use beyond a minor degree, we provide the required information and termination/refund rights. We do not use an update to remove rights already owed to you.
Nothing in these terms limits responsibility for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be limited.
For consumers, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care, subject to applicable law. The business-only limitations below do not apply to consumers.
Business customers only: subject to the preceding exclusions, our total liability arising from the agreement is limited to the greater of US$100 and the subscription fees you paid or owe for the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost business opportunities, to the extent permitted by law. These limitations do not override liability required by data protection law.
10. Privacy, complaints and applicable law
Our privacy notice explains processing of account, payment and service-use information. Our data processing agreement applies when we process uploaded personal data on your behalf. Accepting these terms is not consent to every use of personal data.
Send complaints to support@diffstage.com. We acknowledge them promptly and work to resolve them fairly. If we cannot resolve your complaint, we will explain any applicable alternative dispute resolution options..
The agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales. Business disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. A consumer retains the mandatory protections and court rights of the country where they habitually live when those rules apply. This clause does not require a consumer to give up those protections.
